I am Matthias a 36 year old plant addict.

Living around Ghent.

Since childhood I have been fascinated by plants and animals. For example, I used to raise butterflies in terrariums and release them again. I also used to love some more exotic insects: stick insects and leaves, for example. There are also a few aquariums to shine here. I often think back to my grandmothers who both had a passion for plants in their own way. One with beautiful orchids and the other mainly bedding plants, Primulas. Some of the other family members certainly had a plant passion. I have based my studies on it. I therefore studied technical horticulture and later a bachelor's degree in agricultural and biotechnology: Green Management.

Also professionally active in many plant sectors. Ex. In vitro-in vivo: rapeseed plants. I may have green blood in my veins. In addition, I had set up a nursery together with my uncle about 3 beloved plant families that we really thought were fantastic:

Was also a teacher for a short period. To breed the new generation of green fingers. My favorite thing to do now is to commit myself to green projects and to give workshops/demos. Through some friends and plant addicts I started again with houseplants about three years ago. Collect many species. But some favorites are Philodendron/Monstera/Alocasia/Caladuim. Plants and animals continue to amaze me every day. In these still difficult times. Is the need for mental health really important? That's why I firmly believe in 'planttherapy' !!

Hopefully I can meet many plant friends / exchange plants / make passion my profession.
